Job Description
Ares is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate to join the Middle Office Operations team that supports Ares credit business. The new Associate is needed to help support continued business growth, improve processes, and scale operations. This position will focus on providing operational business support, as well as work on strategic projects to enhance the efficiency and scale of the operation.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Provide daily operational support to deal and portfolio management teams
Help manage the day-to-day processes involved with new deal closings including pre and post transaction operations.
Assist in the deal closing process from an operational perspective to ensure timely funding and accurate bookings across all platforms.
Manage the active pipeline of upcoming deal closings, capital calls, amendments, drawdowns, payoffs, etc.
Daily breaks maintenance for our positions and cash
Work closely with Accounting, Tax, Legal, and other groups to ensure cohesive efforts on transactions.
Provide operational support for deal closings including trade bookings, data management, new asset setups, wire payments, cash and position reconciliation.
Participate in team projects and initiatives for process improvements.
Manage and optimize strategic and operational processes and workflows related to transactions. Streamline new practices
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required from a top academic institution with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related fields strongly preferred.
Master’s or other advanced degree considered a plus.
Experience Required:
Minimum 2 years of relevant operations experience, including experience with private equity or credit investments, bank debt, bonds, preferred equity, and other fixed income products.
Knowledge of Wall Street Office, Clearpar, Everest/Black Mountain, IVP, and/or Geneva strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and interact directly with investment professionals.
Previous experience implementing controls and improving processes.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$105,000 - $125,000
