Arett Sales, a leading lawn and garden distributor headquartered in Pennsauken, NJ, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations. In this role, you will produce periodic financial reports, maintain robust accounting records, and implement effective controls and budgets to mitigate risk and ensure GAAP compliance—all while overseeing daily treasury functions and working closely with our VP of Finance to drive timely closings and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting, auditing, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Develop and enforce internal controls and policies for regulatory compliance.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Manage journal entries, invoices, and daily treasury operations.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure timely quarterly and year-end closings.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks.
- Proven experience in accounting with expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and vendor management.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, with a solid grasp of GAAP.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is highly desirable.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting and staff management; CPA or CMA is a plus.
