About the Position
The HEP Energy Frontier group at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in ATLAS Software R&D and HEP-CCE Scaling Machine Learning. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with HEP scientists on ATLAS and facilitate the scaling of ML workflows for deployment on high-performance computing resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop core software for the ATLAS experiment with a focus on input/output software and metadata handling.
- Collaborate with HEP scientists on ATLAS and other projects.
- Facilitate the scaling of HEP ML workflows for deployment on large-scale computing resources.
- Automate model design, optimize hyperparameters, and train ensembles of models.
Requirements
- Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD in experimental particle physics.
- Programming expertise in C/C , Python, Fortran, or another scientific programming language.
- Experience with ML software such as Tensorflow and PyTorch.
- Experience with ATLAS Software Development.
