What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Appointee - Electrode Processing position at Argonne National Laboratory?
The Applied Materials Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral appointee to conduct research related to electrode processing, such as electrode design, interface engineering, process development, cell assembly and testing. The candidate is expected to develop new processes to fabricate electrodes, characterize electrodes and cells, and understand degradation mechanisms. The candidate is also expected to think and work independently and perform in a highly interdisciplinary environment of chemists, physicists, and materials scientists.
- Understand relations of materials properties, processing, and properties for batteries.
- Design electrodes, electrode architecture and interfaces.
- Understand mass transport limiting on high-energy cells.
- Develop techniques and strategies for cell electrochemical measurements and post-mortem analysis.
- Write high impact papers on transformational battery technologies.
- Network and develop collaboration with other groups and divisions internally and with other national labs, industry, and utilities.

The expected hiring range for this position is $70,758.00 - $117,925.00.
