Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, entrepreneurial-minded Café Manager to help bring this vision to life. The Café Manager will play a critical role in setting up and managing all aspects of the café, from concept to opening day and beyond. This position is ideal for someone who has a deep interest in social enterprise, loves food and beverage, and is excited to create a space that makes a positive community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Opening:
- Collaborate with founders to help shape the café’s concept, mission, and branding.
- Assist with the café’s physical setup, including layout, equipment sourcing, and design.
- Build relationships with local vendors and partners, ensuring the café’s supply chain aligns with our values of sustainability and local sourcing.
- Hire, train, and onboard staff, focusing on creating a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Develop operational processes, including inventory management, scheduling, and customer service protocols.
- Oversee the development of the café’s menu, ensuring a high-quality offering that meets both customer preferences and our social mission.
- Post-Opening:
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service and high customer satisfaction.
- Lead and inspire café staff, providing ongoing training and professional development.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and inventory control to ensure the café’s financial sustainability.
- Build and foster community relationships, including organizing events and partnerships that align with the café’s mission.
- Implement sustainable business practices that reduce waste, conserve energy, and support environmental goals.
- Regularly assess and improve operations to enhance the café’s impact and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hospitality management, ideally in a café or restaurant setting.
- Passion for social enterprise, sustainability, and community-building.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and manage a diverse team.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take ownership of the café’s success.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of local sourcing, sustainable practices, and operational efficiency is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.43 - $18.28 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
