Job Summary:
Argus Community is seeking a detailed-oriented professional to take on the role of Senior Grant Accountant. The ideal candidate focuses on details, thrives on collaboration, and welcomes innovation. Salary range is $60,000 - $70,000.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manage the monthly analysis and timely billing of all assigned government and foundation contracts
· Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, or annual billing of all contracts as appropriate
· Adhere to all Argus Community accounting controls for processing grant submissions
· Follow up expeditiously with all relevant government agencies on questioned expenditures, ensure that Argus Community receives the maximum of monies due
· Verify collections of funds with Accounts Receivable and ensure accuracy of receivable balances in the ledger for the assigned contracts
· Train program staff on the proper coding of expenditures
· Perform monthly grant reconciliations to ensure that all activities under each grant fall within the funder and agency guidelines
· Processes expense reclasses as needed
· Analyzes variances and communicates variances as appropriate
· Maintain complete and accurate grant files
· Assists with funder and financial statement audits
· Work proactively with program staff to provide all fiscal support needed in their management of their programs
· Support funder audits
· Undertake special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Criteria:
· At least 3 to 5 years of related experience.
· Knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States and cost accounting principles.
· Familiarity with government contracts.
· Experience with government accounting portals (i.e. PMS, SFS, Passport, HHS accelerator).
· Good interpersonal and communication skills - ability to relate and clearly communicate with operating management, financial staff, and other departments, including professional writing style.
· Ability to analyze problems and recommendations and pay attention to detail.
