POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Staff Accountant reports directly to a Senior Accounting Manager and is responsible for the cycle of accounting tasks for Corporate General Ledger team. These include month end accounting, account reconciliations and financial.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Month End Accounting
- Prepare assigned journal entries.
- Reconcile assigned cash, prepaid expenses, other receivables, general liability, and employee-related liability accounts. Resolve accounting discrepancies or disputes associated with account balances and reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable duties bank reconciliation, invoice entry, invoice outstanding capture, etc.
- Analyze assigned expense accounts; research variances from budget and prepare entries for appropriate corrections or accruals.
- Prepare assigned management monthly reports with notations to clarify financial data where needed.
- Provide backup for the other accountants as needed.
- Preparation of daily cash balance reports.
Other
- Assist with audits by preparing assigned audit schedules and pulling supporting paperwork.
- Other reporting and special projects as needed.
- Assist the accounting staff, Supervisor, Director and VP Controller as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not have any direct reports
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Interacts with Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Tax
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
COMPETENCIES:
- Advanced Excel and Word skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail oriented
- Highly organized
- Problem solver
- Highly self motivated
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
- 3 years of accounting experience strongly desired
- Ability to analyze financial data.
