General Responsibilities:
A Customs Brokerage Clerk is responsible for preparing and compiling documents required by the federal government for discharge of foreign cargo at domestic port to serve as intermediary between importers, merchant shipping companies, airlines, trucking companies, and the United States Customs Service by performing the following duties personally.
Specific Job Duties:
- Knowledge of a variety of clearances: FTZ admissions, Inbonds, manipulations, delivery tickets, and consumption entries.
- Interface with CBP and FTZ authorities, when needed
- Receive, review, and process import documentation from electronic or manual sources
- Trace key transaction information such as Bill of Lading, commercial invoice and other required documents to determine if they comply with 19 CFR regulations
- Interface with customers, vendors and fellow employees
- Monitor transactions and notify supervisory personnel of any problems or irregularities
- Provide excellent and timely customer service on status of incoming shipment to customer
- Coordinate and communicate customs release to carrier and the customer
- Successfully achieve desired results on all tasks assigned by Aries Management
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Industry Experience Preferred and Basic Experience in Customs Brokerage.
Detailed oriented
Balance team and individual responsibilities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Bilingual English and Spanish.
Microsoft office proficient
