Description
Description of Responsibilities:
- Conducts technical evaluation, evaluate equipment / material suitability and issue clarification of supplier bids complete technical report to support order placement
- Works closely with clients and operations to understand and implement new technologies, tools, methodologies, and applications
- Acts as lead engineer in projects, organizes work to comply with project requirements, prepares reports such as weekly reports, progress reports, status reports, provides input into project schedules
- Leads technical discussion, meetings with suppliers and clients
- Works with instrument engineers, process engineers, technologists, designers and others to provide automation engineering and design deliverables to a variety of projects
- Reviews, comments on and approves Vendor Documentation
- Responsible for quality control of all deliverables within the scope of the Automation discipline
- Interface with Project Management and Client and liaise with other project disciplines
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates and defining scopes of work for automation systems
- Build internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal & external service providers or contractors
- Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer
- May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Experience in controls system scopes and production of Automation deliverables such as cause and effect diagrams, control narratives, control philosophy, I/O assignments, control system architecture, DCS/PLC hardware and software specifications, Fire and Gas Systems for the Offshore, Midstream, Petrochemical, Refining industries
- Experience working on migrating and upgrading DCS, PLC, SCADA, Safety Systems, Fire & Gas, HMI
- Experience in design and implementation of IT/OT infrastructure and networking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of ISA, IEC, API 14C, SAFE Charts, NFPA, Familiar with IEC-62443
- EPC, Offshore experience a plus
Software:
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
- Rockwell Control Logics, PlantPax, Factory Talk and PanelView HMI
- Honeywell Experion PKS DCS & C200/300 Controllers, Emerson Delta V, Pi Historian a plus
- ControlNet, DeviceNet, Modbus Plus, and Fault Tolerant Ethernet industrial communication networks.
- Siemens PLCs a plus
Education Level:
- BSc, or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrument
- Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
- 10 years of experience
- PE license a plus
Amount of Travel:
- Some travel to site locations may be required
