ABOUT THE POSITION

The Robotics Field Technician position combines robotics, controls, and electrical work. As part of our growing team, you will build, install, and repair automated systems for use in diverse production environments. This position plays a critical role in the creation of our next-generation robotics and 3D scanning systems. The successful candidate will install, troubleshoot, and service ARIS Technology automated systems at our valued customers’ locations.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow and help create a great culture with a growing tech start-up in Industry 4.0. This position is based out of our new, modern location in Hinckley, IL and will involve significant travel.

JOB OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build robotic cells uniquely created for each customer, in collaboration with the team
  • Install, troubleshoot, and service our custom automated systems at client sites
  • Build and test motion control systems including servo motors, stepper motors, sensors, switches, and power distribution
  • Create robotic programs utilizing a teach pendant or other technology
  • Set up safety equipment and confirm sensor operation
  • Troubleshoot, test, and maintain robotic systems
  • Successfully represent ARIS Technology at customer sites and in other locations
  • Advise management regarding product performance and suggestions for product improvements
  • Install software to control robotic systems for applications
  • Build and install end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
  • Collaborate with others on matters such as trouble shooting, innovation, etc.
  • Use a variety of tools in the fabrication and installation of robotic systems

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Robotic systems experience, including building, implementation, and evaluation
  • Prior work experience with sensors, servo motors, and power distribution 
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and validation experience 
  • Teach pendant operation
  • Mechanical skills and abilities to use hand tools and precision tools for the assembly of robotic systems
  • Analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • This is a client facing position which requires advanced communication skills, the ability to understand the perspective of our customer, diplomacy, and excellence in execution
  • A safety mindset, which is applied in work
  • Creative thinking and innovation
  • Proven ability to succeed working independently as well as within teams, regardless of the location
  • Time management skills, including a history of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines

  • Robotics software experience: Fanuc
  • Associate's in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, related degree OR equivalent work experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collaborative robot (cobot) experience
  • Robotics software experience: Universal, Yaskawa, and/or Mitsubishi
  • Accustomed to documenting tests and experience working in a test-driven environment
  • Robotic motion planning knowledge 
  • Familiar with Localization as it relates to Robotics
  • Experience utilizing CAD and 3D Modeling in programs such as SolidWorks
  • Experience building Robotic Operating System (ROS) interfaces and systems
  • Professional experience with 3D scanners
  • Experience working in a start-up and/or matrix environment
  • Manufacturing industry experience
