What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist position at Aristeo Construction?

Position Responsibilities:
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts
- Organize and send invoices for approval
- Prepare and post monthly credit card statements for approval and coding
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Complete and file monthly Use Tax returns for various states
- Review existing accounts payable workflow processes
- Complete year-end procedures timely and accurate, including preparation of 1099’s
- Process employee reimbursements, per diems, and any other necessary expenses
- Process checks and ACH payments that are due for payment
- Responsible for month-end AP reporting
- Comply with all internal reporting requirements
- Maintain business relationships with suppliers
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Excel
- Knowledge of Viewpoint and Crystal Report Writing is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, multi-task, and be a team player
- Ability to take initiative and provide oversight
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field is required
- 3-7 years of experience working in accounting or related field
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred
- Sales and Use Tax experience is required
