Summary:
Lead architectural design and construction oversight for residential projects across the US. The role will involve managing the entire design process, guiding the team, and ensuring projects align with the company's vision and regulatory requirements.
The role of a Senior Architect is pivotal in transforming design concepts into practical, detailed construction drawings. By effectively leading and collaborating with the project team, and ensuring code compliance, the contributions will be essential in delivering successful residential projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of architects and designers, overseeing their work and ensuring high standards of design and technical quality.
- Architectural Design: Use AutoCAD or other drafting software to create architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Project Oversight: Manage the entire design and construction process, from initial concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their vision, needs, and aesthetic preferences, incorporating them into the design development process.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with engineers and other consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components into architectural drawings.
- Design Development: Participate in design discussions and provide input based on your technical expertise and understanding of residential construction practices.
- Conceptual Visualization: Create conceptual sketches or 3D models to illustrate design ideas and facilitate client understanding and decision-making.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and other relevant regulations. Ensure that architectural designs comply with all applicable building regulations and obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
- Construction Review: Review and comment on shop drawings and contractor submittals to ensure proper implementation of the design and compliance with codes and specifications.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to verify construction progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure that the project is being built per the design intent.
- Problem Solving: Address design-related issues that may arise during the construction process, proposing solutions and adjustments as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all architectural outputs meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience as a senior residential architect, with a focus on designing and managing residential projects in the U.S.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other comparable architectural drafting software.
