We're seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. The primary areas of responsibility will include maintaining the general ledger, processing accounts payable, preparing monthly reconciliations, fixed asset management, fund accounting, preparing financial statements and participating in annual audits. The Staff Accountant will also assist preparing, reporting and analyzing payroll information.
LOCATION: 90% remote / 10% at our offices in Phoenix/Chandler
SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
COMPENSATION: Starting pay range is $60k-$75k with pay increases TWICE a year

General Job Duties Include:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards including, but not limited to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), OMB Uniform Guidance, etc.
- Perform research and analysis on complex accounting issues and transactions.
- Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy, reasonableness, and allocability.
- Assign accurate vendor/customer and account numbers to invoices, receipts, bank deposits, etc.
- Process payments to vendors, employees, and other entities (ACH files, printing checks, credit cards etc.).
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing duties.
- Create and maintain various tracking schedules (grants, capital projects, lease, etc.)
- Coordinate and participate in the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain financial record filing systems.
- Post cash payments in accounting software.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations (bank, credit cards, balance sheet accounts, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance. May substitute 5-years of relevant accounting experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of accounting experience.
- Human services, behavioral health care, or non-profit experience a plus
- Successfully pass a background test and other required compliance items
