The Vascular Technologist will perform non-invasive diagnostic procedures to assess vascular health, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating disorders related to the circulatory system. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in vascular technology and possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Vascular Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct a variety of non-invasive vascular tests such as Doppler ultrasound, vascular imaging, arterial and venous studies, and other specialized procedures to assess blood flow and identify vascular abnormalities.
- Patient Care and Interaction: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the examination. Obtain and record patient history, and answer any questions or concerns regarding the procedure.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain vascular ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functionality and adherence to quality standards. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test results and provide accurate and comprehensive reports to assist physicians in diagnosing vascular conditions. Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and test results.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results and contribute to patient treatment plans. Communicate findings and observations clearly and professionally.
- Adherence to Protocols and Safety Standards: Follow established protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements in performing procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Vascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or related field.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) preferred.
- Proficient in operating vascular ultrasound equipment and related technology.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing diagnostic procedures and recording results.
