What You'll Do:
- Assist in financial statement preparation, consolidation, and analysis.
- Assist in coordination, preparation, and responses for audits.
- Assist in the management of the accounting department and direction of the accounting functions.
- Assist in the training and development of accounting staff
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee certain internal controls and conduct selected internal audit procedures.
- Assist in overseeing compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos as needed.
- Review financial data generated by other staff for accuracy and completeness.
- Support and assist in overseeing the monthly close process.
- Manage the reporting of budget to actual related campus build-out projects.
- Prepare the weekly cash forecast
- Guide and assist other departments by clearly communicating current accounting and policies and procedures as well as assisting in composing and disseminating new procedures and policies as necessitated by best practices and changes in regulations.
- Provide recommendations for business process improvements.
- Serve as a backup for Controller.

What We Need From You:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Active CPA license highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of six years of progressive experience in Accounting
- Public Accounting experience required
- For profit education expenses is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems. Experience with Great Plains is a plus.
- Experience with Anthology is a plus
