The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist 1 for the Division of Financial Services, Accounting Administration, for the Payroll department. This position reviews and analyzes payroll documents and creates fiscal transactions utilizing the applicable automated accounting system. These systems include the Human Resources Information Solutions (HRIS), Your Employee Services (Y.E.S), and Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (one to two days per week in office / hoteling).

Job Duties :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Performs routine accounting tasks involving basic numeric calculations for assigned fiscal management section.
- Applies accounting principles and practices used within the Administration.
- Gathers, compiles, and reconciles fiscal data.
- Examines and verifies fiscal transactions, such as billing invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, or other financial documents.
- Maintains records.
- Prepares reports summarizing financial transactions.
- Completes journal entries.
