What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROCUREMENT TECHNICIAN position at Arizona Department of Child Safety?
This position is responsible for procuring commodities and services requested by DCS offices statewide within delegated procurement authority and according to policies and procedures. The responsibilities include preparing and issuing informal solicitations for commodities and general services, documenting the receipt of goods and services, participating in LEAN processes to create efficiencies for the Department, and providing status updates to end users and Procurement management.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties :
- Receive, review for accuracy, input, process and track purchasing requests for assigned commodities and services, analyzing requests against available contracted items. Confirm accuracy of NIGP, cost allocation and other necessary accounting codes for which purchases will be charged against. Issue purchase orders for assigned commodities and services.
- Conduct small dollar purchases up to delegated procurement authority in accordance with Procurement Code and appropriate policies and procedures.
- Conduct procurements to include preparation, evaluation and of informal solicitations, Request for Quotes (RFQs). Upon contract award, conduct contract administration duties to include amendments, extensions, and / or assignments. When assigned, assist in the preparation, issuance, evaluation and award of formal solicitations, Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitation for Bids (IFBs).
- Responsible for ensuring maintaining and compiling accurate records within designated database(s). Updates and generates reports as requested by Procurement Manager, and / or department management. Performs vendor outreach and provides technical assistance to both internal and external customers.
- Assist in the administration of the Departments Procurement Card (P-Card) program, as assigned, to include application, card issuance, training, and compliance activities.

Minimum three years experience equivalent to that or above the Administrative Assistant III or Procurement Associate level in such fields as purchasing, accounting, budget, personnel or related administrative field is preferred. Professional certification such as a Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB) from a professional purchasing organization is preferred but not required.
Pre-Employment Requirements :
Ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
