DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Intern.
The person in the Intern position will work with Governance & Innovation Administration (GIA) leadership to ensure the Department's activities are conducted in a manner that is accountable, compliant, transparent, responsive, inclusive, equitable, accessible, and participatory. This includes research, analysis, organization, and coordination tasks relating to DES administrative policies, rulemaking, best practice initiatives, public records requests, privacy incident response and mitigation, and litigation holds.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Meet with Division and Program personnel to address issues with policy, rules, public record, privacy and best practice initiatives.
- Organize Department documents and records and evaluate Department inquiries related to policy, rules, public records, and privacy.
- Support GIA team members in completing core work within GIA, including potentially researching or drafting policy or rules and managing public records requests.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from Executive Leadership, Division Leadership, and DES staff.
- Participate in activities within the Department to learn and understand the Department, State of Arizona Government, and the work being done on behalf of the citizens of Arizona.
