The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence.
DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Work Opportunity Tax Credit Benefits & Eligibility Specialist with the Workforce Development Administration (WDA). This position is responsible for analyzing all received documents and information to determine the most appropriate eligibility classification in accordance with relevant policies and federal guidelines.
Travel will be required for client meetings, outreach / events, office coverage.
Travel will be required for State business. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on State business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code [A.A.C.] R2-10-207.11).
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangement).

Job Duties :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Review Applications and submit forms to ensure they meet all program requirements.
- Gather needed information from clients to determine program eligibility.
- Analyze and verify all documents and information received to determine the qualifying target group.
- Render eligibility decisions accurately in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.
- Maintain accurate record and data entry.
- Respond to written and telephone inquiries from employers / agents, participating agencies, and other DES entities.
- Communicate with employers, employer representatives, and other state agencies to obtain information. On Behalf of DES, deliver presentations to employers, employer representatives, and other state agencies to obtain information.
- Maintain positive working relationships with peers, management, and both internal and external Confer with the supervisor for clarification on policies and procedures as needed.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and presentations.
