The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing and Communications Director to lead and independently execute both our day-to-day and high-level marketing strategy. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this hands-on role will be instrumental in elevating our brand presence, driving engagement, and supporting organizational growth across "departments", including outreach, programs, and development/ philanthropy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, technical marketing expertise, and the ability to work independently and effectively to manage all aspects of the marketing function. Key activities will include but will not be limited to:
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brand Management: Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all channels. Oversee the creation and maintenance of brand guidelines. This role will be responsible for both strategy development and execution.
- Digital Marketing: Manage, lead and independently execute all aspects of digital marketing campaigns, including website management (content updates, analytics tracking), social media marketing (content creation, community engagement, paid advertising), email marketing, and other online initiatives. Maintain a strong understanding of current digital marketing trends and best practices. This includes hands-on implementation.
- Content Creation: Independently create compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including website, social media, print materials, and presentations. This includes copywriting, graphic design (physical collateral and digital assets), and potentially video production.
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement communication plans to support organizational initiatives, including outreach, programs and philanthropic initiatives. Craft compelling narratives and support media and public relations with clear and responsive communications. This role will be responsible for both strategy and execution.
- Marketing Collateral Development: Independently design and produce high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, presentations, and other print and digital assets.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze marketing campaign performance, providing regular reports on key metrics and making data-driven recommendations for optimization. This role will be responsible for all reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across the organization, including programs, development/philanthropy to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that support their specific goals. Act as a thought partner and provide marketing expertise to these teams. This role requires strong collaboration skills as a solo marketer.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated strategically and results are measured. This role will be responsible for the entire budget.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors, such as printers, designers, digital marketing agencies and public relations as needed and within budget constraints. This role requires the ability to assess when external help is necessary.
- Board and Committee Management: Manage and lead the committee of marketing and public relations volunteers (board and non-board) that offer their expertise in support of our mission. Committee meetings take place at-least once, quarterly.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- 5-7 Years of experience in roles that required marketing leadership and execution, preferably in non-profit roles but outside of non-profit will also be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing communication, Journalism, Design, or equivalent working experience
- Advanced skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and all social media platforms
- Spanish fluency is preferred but not required
- Team players, comfortable with high-pace environments and be willing to get into the trenches to build a world class operation and brand
- Have superb written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail and time management skills and a can-do, self-starter attitude
- Motivation to develop relationships and work collaboratively across the organization
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard office working environment with some offsite meeting requirements. This role may also require some evening and weekend work to support marketing needs as determined.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time, paid position. The salary target for this role is $72,000 - $77,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, in addition to a competitive benefits package that includes: health, dental, vision, and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
