What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern - CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY position at Arizona G&T Cooperatives?
This role will be assigned to one of our engineering departments, Substation / Transmission Engineering, Generation Engineering, or EMS Engineering to assist in various documentation projects and other miscellaneous engineering services.
This internship is part-time hours during the school year and full-time hours during school breaks. This position is on-site at either our Benson, AZ office or Apache Generating Station in Cochise, AZ, with no option for remote work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering, Civil / Structural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Must be within two years of graduation (Junior or Senior status)
- Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work on given tasks without constant supervision
- Strong computer skills with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year; and up to 40 hours per week during summer and school breaks depending on the business needs
- Failure to maintain full-time status, good academic standing and / or the required GPA will result in Student Interns being deemed ineligible for participation in this program
- Scheduling of work hours and assignments will take into consideration that Student Interns are students first and employees second
- Travel to and from our Benson location, project sites, and Apache Station in Cochise as needed
- Must possess, and maintain, a valid driver's license
