Our members include six electric distribution cooperatives that distribute electric power to their own residential and commercial consumers at the end of the line.
What it's like to be a HR Generalist I, II or III at HR Generalist I, II or III
As a new HR Generalist I, II, or III at Arizona G&T Cooperatives, you will engage in a variety of daily tasks that are essential to our HR operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing employee onboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee records, and addressing employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures. You will collaborate closely with department managers to identify staffing needs and assist in the recruitment process. Additionally, you'll facilitate training sessions to enhance employees' skill sets and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
Regularly, you will analyze HR metrics to identify trends and suggest improvements. You will also play a pivotal role in supporting our company's culture of excellence by assisting in the development and implementation of HR initiatives that promote employee engagement and retention. Your proactive problem-solving approach will be key in addressing any HR-related challenges that arise.

Candidates should possess a BS/BA in Business or Human Resources, alongside at least one year of experience in employment, benefits administration, basic employee relations, and HR communication. A solid understanding of state and federal employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, OFCCP/EEOC, 401(k), and COBRA guidelines, is crucial. Proficiency in PC and database management is required, with experience in word processing, Excel spreadsheets, presentation software, email, and SAP.
Additionally, a general understanding of payroll functions and labor union dynamics is beneficial. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal relationship abilities, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. The role demands sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy for conflict resolution, as well as a collaborative spirit demonstrated through experience in team environments. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- BS/BA in Business or Human Resources.
- One plus years of experience to include: employment, benefit administration, basic employee relations and basic HR communication.
- Basic understanding of employment laws (state and federal) including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, OFCCP/EEOC, 401(k), COBRA and other employee benefit guidelines.
- Strong PC and database management skills including experience with word processing, excel spreadsheets, presentation software, email and SAP.
- General understanding of payroll function.
