This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional with a strong background in power systems engineering and contract administration to play a key role in shaping energy infrastructure for the cooperative industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), transmission service agreements (TSAs), interconnection agreements, and construction contracts.
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and regulatory teams to ensure contracts align with cooperative policies and industry regulations.
- Provide engineering expertise in contract development, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with technical standards.
- Evaluate and manage joint generation and transmission agreements, including shared resource projects and infrastructure partnerships.
- Monitor contract performance, analyze operational impacts, and recommend modifications as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with WECC, NERC, FERC, and RUS standards in all contract-related activities.
- Support system planning and infrastructure development, ensuring contracts account for future energy needs and grid expansion.
- Act as a technical liaison between cooperative members, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Participate in special projects and industry committees, representing the cooperative in negotiations and regulatory discussions.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 1-5 years of experience in power systems engineering, utility contract administration, or cooperative energy planning.
- Strong knowledge of electric cooperative operations, contract principles, and utility infrastructure.
- Experience with power purchase agreements (PPAs), transmission service agreements (TSAs), and interconnection agreements.
- Familiarity with WECC, NERC, FERC, and RUS regulations governing cooperative energy operations.
- Proficiency in engineering software, load forecasting, and system modeling tools.
