What You'll Do To Contribute to Agency Success :
As the Chief Analytics Officer, you’ll be responsible for leading and overseeing the Office of Data Analytics, Data Management and Oversight, and Data Governance and Medical Economics units. You’ll manage and oversee a tenured team of committed individuals working on data management and data analytics that support the day-to-day activities of AHCCCS, Arizona's Medicaid agency that offers health care programs to serve Arizona residents. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing, planning and collection of data used for agency-level data reporting and analysis needs to turn data into information and knowledge to make sound business decisions; translates strategy into operational practice. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Provide leadership to the analytics teams, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of individuals, including direct supervision of the Office of Data Analytics, Data Management and Oversight, and Data Governance and Medical Economics units. Build and lead a high-performing analytics team, provide mentorship, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Responsible for managing the planning and collection of data for agency-level reporting and analysis. Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities for improvement. This role transforms data into actionable insights to support informed business decisions and effectively translates strategic goals into operational practices.
- Develops, coordinates, and sets methods and standards for staff work. Engages in continuous process improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance planning and system design, data collection and management, analysis, interpretation, and application. Communicate and present findings on complex data concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
- Identifies, recommends, and supports technology solutions and automation of key processes. This role coordinates data management and analysis to ensure business objectives are achieved across various divisions and programs, as well as at the agency level. Responsibilities include managing enterprise reporting tool training, data management procurement activities, and relevant APD updates.
- Collaborates with internal and external programs to create and complete grant-funded inter-agency and intra-agency projects, Health Information Exchange projects, and public and private AHCCCS initiatives. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of analytics initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
- Implements and upholds best practices in data management, encompassing reporting and data analytics, data governance and documentation, data quality, data cleansing and validation, and data enrichment. Implement and maintain best practices related to data management in collaboration with all AHCCCS divisions and public and private entities that share data with AHCCCS.
- Responsible for oversight and strategy of the AHCCCS encounter processes, including technical assistance, implementations, interfaces, training programs, and managing MCO encounter relationships. Stays current with CMS policies and industry developments related to claims and encounter processes.
- Assist in the coordination of software solutions, AHCCCS’s MMIS roadmap, and vendor partnerships that align with organizational analytical goals. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate deliverables. Manage implementation plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management. Support in addressing issues to ensure projects remain on track.
