Job Summary:
The IT Support Technician is responsible for setting up and maintaining company computer systems and hardware. The IT Support Technician will report to the Vice President of Information Technology and will also work with other IT Technicians to install hardware and troubleshoot computer issues, respond to IT questions from company employees, and update malware protection devices to prevent viruses or computer hacking.
Responsibilities:
Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages, may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.
Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, custom applications, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required
Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and applications, staffs a centralized help desk solution.
Respond to telephone calls, e-mails and personnel requests for technical support.
Cleaning and maintenance of office wide Printers, faxes and Photocopy machines, etc.
Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in IT, customer service, or other related fields
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
