JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Lead Behavioral Health Associate provides basic nursing care, aids with activities of daily living, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of the Admin BHAs, Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing.
The Lead Behavioral Health Associate participates in Performance Improvement Management in areas such as: client education, staff development, team building, and program development and improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Minimum two (2) years of education focused on nursing, psychology, social service, medicine or related field preferred.
Experience:
Training or experience in substance abuse and/or behavioral health services; preferred. A minimum of 1 year of experience managing/ supervising others.
Certification:
Healthcare Provider CPR and First Aid, Fingerprint Clearance Card and TB. Handle with Care within the first three (3) months of hire and annually thereafter.
Lead Behavioral Health Associate Job Requirements:
Lead Behavioral Health Associates will have recognized leadership capabilities as evidenced by written endorsement by an RN, experience in all program areas, and knowledge of program goals. They will have a thorough understanding of campus policies and procedures. They will have the ability to lead staff in Code situations, emphasizing safety and de-escalation. They will have a minimum of 3 (three) months of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician at Arizona Rehab Campus.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Must be able to interact positively with clients on a daily basis whose behavior may be difficult, uncooperative or aggressive.
- Must be able to perform concentrated and/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and/or highly technical situations;
- Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
- Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles;
- Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;
- Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion;
- Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis;
- Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Drivers License in order to transport clients and/or staff, or drive hospital vehicles.
