SUMMARY
The Events Lead provides exceptional front-line customer service and event oversight to Science Center clients and guests. Events at Arizona Science Center include social, corporate, foundation and community partner, public, and internal programs. The role of the Events Lead is to support the Events team in all aspects of event production and delivery of events at Arizona Science Center and serve as the events lead for some events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and respond to event requests
- Schedule and conduct walkthroughs
- Assist in event sales
- Manage administrative details for events as assigned
- Track event progress to ensure requirements are timely and in place
- Use Tessitura and other database systems for client record keeping
- Oversee the birthday program including managing the packages and bookings
- Receive and process payments
- Serve as Manager on Duty for assigned events
- Maintain an active Arizona basic and management liquor training certification, CPR, First-Aid, Food Handlers, and other credentials as needed
- Be knowledgeable on Guest Sales & Services (GSS) systems and procedures as needed to lead events
- This position will include early mornings, evenings (sometimes late), weekends and occasionally holidays

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities but will provide leadership of support staff during events.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one-year event experience required.
- Liquor handling experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
