Job Description:
As a Thunderbird School of Global Management member, the Career Services Specialist establishes and cultivates contacts with employers, students, and alumni to develop opportunities through internships, knowledge, and employment opportunities. Provides relevant information to graduate students, and collaborates with employers on job postings, resume collections, and employer events. Attends career and professional events to maintain knowledge and trends on career and employment to ensure Thunderbird maintains a presence in the recruitment community. Creates and oversees the Career Management Center's social media channels. Working closely with Asst Dir Employer Relations, plans, coordinates, and supports on-campus career and recruitment events. Develops and maintains relationships with on-campus and off-campus partners and coordinates special projects as assigned. Establishes a rapport with graduate students to understand their employment goals and utilizes this information in a proactive way when collaborating with employers and establishing an events schedule. Reports to Assistant Director, Employer Relations, Career Management Center within the Thunderbird School of Global Management Student Success Team.
Max Pay – Depends on experience:
$51,500.00 USD Annual
Essential Duties:
- Establish new employer contacts and strengthen current employer contacts through outreach activities such as cold calls, mass mailings, and individual employer visits.
- Attend external events, such as national, local, and ASU job fairs, for Thunderbird branding and business development
- Coordinate and participate in Thunderbird employer events (employer sessions, site visits, tabling, and career events.)
- Create and distribute promotional materials for social media and email campaigns
- Liaise with Thunderbird student clubs to promote and partner with employer events
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data
- Process, prepare, and issue invoices for the Career Management Center
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills, problem-solving, and the ability to work well both collaboratively and independently
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Background in career services preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of marketing and social media channels to promote the Thunderbird Employer Relations department
- Experience in working with diverse groups and individuals.

Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
