Department Statement:

About the Learning Enterprise

We believe that the rigid and linear design of traditional higher education is neither an effective ladder to social and economic opportunity for all learners nor is it responsive to rapidly evolving workforce needs. ASU has responded to these challenges with the creation of Learning Enterprise (LE). We are guided by the belief that everyone should have universal access to education and opportunity. At every stage of life.

At LE, we share a common set of values that guide our work and collaboration:

Scrappy. We are undaunted by challenges. We remain undeterred by anything that stands in the way of moving our vision forward. If we fall, we get up, over and over again. If it doesn’t exist, we create it. If something doesn’t work, we try something else.

Driven. We always push to be better for ourselves, for each other, and for our students. We are not defeated or guided by the status quo. We see what could be and relentlessly pursue it.

Intentional Architects. We know our attitude towards what we are doing will determine our success. We see the big picture and take deep pride in building every block that makes up our long-term vision. We are motivated by the potential of a transformed future while remaining firmly focused on tending to the tasks in front of us today.

Leading from the heart. We deeply care about people and their well-being. Everyone is unconditionally supported. We believe in human potential and invest in continuous growth.

Candid collaborators. We share ideas and feedback at all levels. We have strong opinions loosely held and intentionally engage in debate. We strive for clarity through direct and honest communication. We know our work is better for it.

Job Description:

As Sr. Program Manager, Strategic Initiative Development & Success, you are an integral part of the team ensuring the success of LE’s growing portfolio of investment-funded strategic initiatives that creates a new ecosystem for learning across all stages of life. You are responsible for bringing together diverse project teams, often from across ASU and its partners. You guide high-visibility, complex projects to successful outcomes that meet grantors’ expectations, enhance LE’s offerings to reach previously underserved learners, and expand universal access to educational opportunity.

This role is based at ASU’s Tempe campus.

Salary Range: $72,400-78,000; Depends on experience

Essential Duties:

  • Investment Success: Moving the entire organization forward by balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment energizes you. You master the creation of clear, organized decks, reports, and materials for funder-facing colleagues, delivering 6 pieces per quarter and achieving a 2-3 week turnaround per deck after 6 months. You provide concise, quick-turnaround summaries and insights that keep funders engaged and informed on progress. By managing agendas and tight deadlines, you ensure seamless communication support. Since there are a lot of moving parts, you organize them all in an execution plan that you update on a weekly basis.
  • Collaboration: Working across teams to solve a tough challenge so that our learners benefit is what you love to do. You build strong internal relationships across the Learning Enterprise to align goals and reduce revision cycles through effective planning. You streamline coordination, ensuring internal teams are well-prepared and equipped for successful funder interactions, resulting in smooth communication and fewer last-minute changes.
  • Event Support: You enjoy the art of gathering - how we meet with our partners and understand why it matters. You take ownership of logistics for 4 funder-related events in your first year, ensuring smooth execution from planning through delivery. You are the key driver behind timely delivery of internal materials, ensuring the events make a lasting impression.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in client-based project work, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness to changing project scopes or challenging client queries.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects with varying complexity, always delivering on time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ideally honed in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to present learning from project work and quantitative findings in an understandable and compelling manner.
  • Demonstrated leadership through influence and building strong organizational relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous settings and deliver quality work consistently.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

Minimum Qualifications:
