Ark Healthcare and Rehabilitation at Governors House is seeking Full-Time, 40 hour per week, RN Infection Control Nurse.
This position reports to the Director of Nursing and will collaborate with the Medical Director to promote and monitor effective infection prevention practices.
The RN Infection Control Nurse strives to decrease the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases among patients, staff, visitors, and the community.
Infection Control candidates will have the knowledge and skills to:
Partner with facility leaders, physicians, local, state, and national agencies on activities related to infection prevention
Oversee compliance with infection prevention procedures, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and safety programs
Be accountable for surveillance of healthcare acquired and community acquired infections
Monitor and provide education on workplace safety
Participate in external reporting to DPH, and other post-acute-care specific quality organizations
Educate staff, volunteers and medical staff regarding infection trends, outbreaks and updates to infection control practices
Support and participate in the facility's QAPI, quality assurance, performance improvement process
Maintain current knowledge of infection control regulations and comply with OSHA,
Evaluate annual infection prevention goals and implement action plans
Responsible for Weekly Wound Round completion with Wound Doctor
Responsible for maintaining weekly wound tracking log and documenting in resident EMR
Qualified Candidates will possess:
Current, Valid State of Connecticut RN License
Current, Valid CPR/BLS Certification
Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
