EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
One of the three Peer Support Certifications (PR, APR, PRPS) through the Arkansas Peer Specialist Program at the time of application. Must maintain/uphold the certification during employment.
Valid unrestricted driver's license that facilitates travel across the state required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum six (6) months' experience at or above the core certification level (Core, Advanced or Supervisor).
Experience working with computers and basic Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Knowledge of the Recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established standardized mental health processes.
Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders.
Knowledge of community resources necessary for independent living and ability to teach those skills to other individuals with substance use disorder.
Knowledge of how to access and utilize recovery support and educational groups.

Models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies., Identifies opportunities for engagement of members in forming a supportive, peer recovery network. Assists members in locating and joining local recovery support groups., Initiates and maintains contact with assigned members to determine members' engagement and response to services., Performs other duties as assigned., Provides treatment and recovery resources, in addition to peer support services for members.
