What are the responsibilities and job description for the Qualified Behavioral Health Professional position at Arkansas Counseling and Psychodiagnostics?
QBHP'S will act as Mental Health Paraprofessional for ACaP, Inc. QBHP’S will provide direct Mental Health Paraprofessional services under the direct supervision of a Mental Health Professional as dictated by established medical necessity. Upon request or as needed QBHP’S will consult with other mental health professionals (physicians; psychologists) as needed to support them in providing counseling care to ACaP, Inc. clients. QBHP’S will perform the following duties:
QBHP’S will carry out the general duties as specified above in compliance and alignment with the guidelines provided by Medicaid and other involved agencies (i.e., CARF, DBHS, MEDICARE). QBHP’S will provide the Paraprofessional/” Case Management” duties specified in Appendix A (below) as appropriate within the bounds of QBHP’S license or certification as indicated by medically necessary client needs.
QBHP’S will attend ACaP staffings, meetings, and trainings as called by ACaP and as required to satisfy CARF, DBHS, MEDICARE, and MEDICAID requirements.
QBHP’S will consult with other mental health professionals (i.e., ACaP physicians; client PCP; psychologists) and other ACaP paraprofessionals as needed to support them in providing counseling care to ACaP, Inc. clients.
QBHP’S will be available as needed to assist Mental Health Professionals in their duties to provide 24 hour/7 day emergency/crisis intervention services within two hours of being notified, taking calls and providing or arranging for professional intervention as dictated by client needs as required by Medicaid, Medicare, and other interested agencies.
QBHP’S will maintain Arkansas licensure or certification and will undertake all necessary ongoing training (see Appendix B, on Contract) required by ACaP to satisfy requirements of interested agencies (i.e., CARF, DBHS, MEDICARE, and MEDICAID) for maintenance of said license or certification.
QBHP’S will maintain professional liability insurance in amounts specified to satisfy CARF, DBHS, MEDICARE, and MEDICAID requirements.
QBHP’S will transport persons served (i.e., clients; significant others) only in vehicles which are ACaP approved as being appropriately/legally insured for that purpose.
QBHP’S will maintain appropriate paperwork as specified by ACaP to satisfy requirements and guidelines of interested agencies (i.e., CARF, DBHS, MEDICARE and MEDICAID).
QBHP’S will, under direction and in collaboration with ACaP, Inc. Mental Health Professionals, carry out and maintain necessary, legal, and appropriate online/computerized tasks, records, and databases as assigned.
