REPORTS TO: Superintendent
Essential Job Functions
- Schedule and promote ESL parent meetings, social events, etc.
- Coordinate curriculum writing with ESL teachers and Direct of Curriculum Development.
- Create bi-monthly ESL newsletters.
- Meet with ESL teachers on a regular basis before/after school.
- Develop materials, as appropriate (e.g. regarding cultural information of students).
- Recommend translators to Human Resources for appropriate employment .
- Maintain and distribute a current list of approved translators to ESL Staff.
- Coordinate the scheduling of students with the administration, counseling departments, and ESL teachers.
- Make recommendations to Director of Research, Evaluation and Assessment of students requiring modifications/exemptions of students for standardized testing.
- Coordinate in-service/staff development opportunities.
- Maintain inventory of equipment.
- Coordinate visitations to district.
- Attend local, regional and state meetings to remain current on legislative and best practices.
- Oversee the maintenance of files of former and current students.
- Submit student scheduling of ESL teachers to Superintendent for approval.
- Serve as a resource to ESL teachers for questions, concerns, future planning, grants, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
