The Warren Branch Community Coordinator plays an active and proactive role in enhancing the capacity of Warren Branch agencies and travels in state 75% of the time. This position focuses on outreach, education, training, community collaboration, technical support, and customer service, with the primary goal of increasing Meals per Person in Need (MPIN) in the Branch Region counties. Additionally, the Branch Community Coordinator will contribute to and help define health and wellness initiatives as outlined in the Healthy Pantry Initiative plan and is responsible for educating both agencies and individuals receiving food assistance in the Warren Branch Region on healthy eating habits and ensuring shelves are stocked with nutritious food options.

This position is essential in supporting local agencies, feeding programs, and community outreach initiatives. The role involves building and nurturing relationships with community partners, offering guidance on compliance and food safety, and helping to strengthen the capacity of programs to better serve their communities. The position also supports key initiatives such as SNAP application assistance, children’s and senior feeding programs, and mobile distributions. Additionally, the coordinator ensures compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards through regular site visits and provides technical assistance as needed.

The Warren Branch Community Coordinator will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.

Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary. The Warren Branch Community Coordinator will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems.   • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled monitoring visits to agencies, for the assigned area. This includes the agencies participating in the HPI (Healthy Pantry Initiative), TEFAP, and CSFP programs in the Warren Branch Region.
  • Work with staff and member agencies in the Warren Branch Region to increase member capacity and share information concerning Arkansas Foodbank programs and initiatives and assist in the implementation of new strategies and technical assistance necessary to develop and expand service delivery in their communities.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with member agencies, in assigned counties, via telephone, mail, virtual settings, and in person.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of member activities, for the assigned area. This includes entering new agencies into the Ceres database and updating existing member information for assigned area.
  • Responsible for the execution, management, and evaluation of initiatives and goals in the HPI plan.
  • Train and educate agencies about relative nutritional qualities of items on the Foodbank inventory and encourage healthier choices. and coordinate volunteers to assist with nutrition education activities at Foodbank distribution sites and member agencies.
  • Distribute communications to designated groups/audience. Ensuring agency communication is available and viewable by intended recipients.
  • Provide support with identifying and maintaining community partnerships and collaboration efforts.
  • Attain and maintain ServSafe certification.
  • Assist with statistical data collection and program evaluation for the Foodbank’s health and nutrition programming.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, inspection, and evaluation of children and senior feeding programs.
  • Support community members and partners with SNAP application and recertification assistance.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret demographic and geographic data of areas to be served.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, demonstrated through written work and speaking experience with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must maintain calm and professional when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations.
Requirements:

The following qualifications are preferred for the candidate; however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management.


Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Service, Human Services, Community Development, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Systems Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in outreach, education, training, and community engagement, preferably in a nonprofit, social services, or food security setting.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel in-state 75% of the time required.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management or reporting systems.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid Arkansas driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
