Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our medical office, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both patients and staff. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the calendar efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and insurance verification.
- Handle all medical assistant and administrative duties in a timely and courteous manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support physician and other team members
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare charts, answer phones, x-rays, scheduling appointments
- Clerical duties as assigned by management
- Surgery Scheduling - with the hospital including the preparation of the Pre-Op surgery packet for the patient that includes insurance verification, perhaps Prior Authorization, and estimate of the surgery cost
- Assisting with referrals
- Detail-oriented, able to multitask effectively to oversee and manage the daily operations of the medical office.
- Maintaining a clean office daily.
