Job Title: DFA Regulatory Compliance Officer
About the Job:
The DFA Regulatory Enforcement Agent is responsible for enforcing all federal, state, and local laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and medical marijuana. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforces all federal, state, and local laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and medical marijuana including the sale, possession, purchase, and transportation of products.
- Employs basic law enforcement skills, observes activity occurring in the area of assignment, and is alert to acts which may result in violations or any other serious crime.
- Collects evidence and testifies at hearings and in court.
- Responds to reports of a crime in progress, conducts a crime scene assessment, intervenes to terminate criminal acts or to investigate and initiate appropriate actions, and issues summons or citations for misdemeanor crimes or violations.
Requirements:
- The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or a related field, plus one year of law enforcement investigations experience, or experience in electronic forensics or a crime scene division.
- OR the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma, plus five years of law enforcement experience with two years in investigation, electronic forensics, or a crime scene division.
- Must be certified as a Basic, General, Intermediate, Advanced, or Senior Law Enforcement Officer by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-101 through 12-9-109.
