Description
Summary: Responsible for overseeing the physical facility, hiring staff and managing the overall image of the center. Determine staffing needs and arranges for the delivery of services through conducting interviews, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and discipline of staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day operations of EDJ Child Enrichment Center
- Hire and train new staff members
- Provide supervision of childcare workers and volunteers
- Develop relationships with parents, children and co-workers
- Evaluate and request approval for equipment and supplies for the facility
- Communicate policies to staff and parents
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff
- Ensure staff compliance with educational standards
- Help staff resolve conflicts between children
- Assist staff in communicating with parents
- Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress
- Ensure ratios are maintained at all times
- Ensure facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulation
Qualifications Requirements:
- Must be knowledgeable of supervisory skills
- Must demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Must be knowledgeable of office management systems and procedures
- Must maintain good customer service
- Must be proficient in basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite, keyboarding, email and internet use)
- Must have strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Must have strong time management skills
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from a regionally accredited college or university OR one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field plus one (1) of the following:
- 4 years of experience in early childhood education
- CDA
- Birth – Pre-K credential
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education plus 6 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education
- 8 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education plus CDA, Birth – Pre-K credentials, and Technical Certificate of Early Childhood Education
