What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Finance Assistant position at Arkansas Support Network?
Who we are: Licensed disabilities service provider for all of Arkansas, with offices in Springdale, Fort Smith, Camden, and Jonesboro. We work with a wide range of government agencies and departments, nonprofit organizations, health care facilities, education agencies, local schools, foundations, businesses, and individuals to provide the most effective and least restrictive supports for people with disabilities in environments they and their families choose for themselves.
Your duties and responsibilities: As the Business Finance Assistant (BFA) you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day consideration of all activities of the Business Office including finance and accounting systems. S/he will be directly responsible to the Director of Business and will be required to work closely and cooperatively with team members and the CBO to ensure that all administrative functions are performed in such a way as to enhance and support programmatic work performed by ASN staff.
Complete or Assist with administrative duties
- Complete AP and Custodial payment processing weekly or as needed
- Gather 1099s from all ASN Vendors, track reportable payouts and compile spreadsheets for annual 1099 forms
- Update deposit information from the bank website to custodial accounts, send out individual balances, track and scan custodial receipts
- Ensure accuracy in financial documentation and reporting
- Complete bank deposits and positive pay upload as needed
- Liaise with Social Security Office, complete required forms as needed and assist with ASN becoming rep payee for individuals in service
- Assist with Able Accounts and make ach deposits as needed
- Track Charitable care and send out balances as needed or requested
- Assist in Remittance Advice recording and tracking as needed
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all departments and personnel within ASN
- Provide support to the Business Office as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Assist individuals receiving services with questions regarding custodial accounts as needed
- Complete all other duties as assigned
The BFA should meet the following qualifications to be eligible for the position:
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience resulting in relevant skills and knowledge.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft word and excel
- Data entry skills, attention to detail
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate a team and foster enthusiasm and innovation.
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A sound working knowledge of all technology systems utilized by the organization
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Strong advocacy skills and a commitment to the mission of ASN
Working conditions
- The BFA is a full-time 40 hours per week position, with the understanding that scheduling must be flexible.
- Hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but will flex based on demands of the specific duties.
- Evening and weekend work can occasionally be required.
- Travel throughout the community and state is sometimes required and mileage reimbursement is provided.
Location: Springdale, Arkansas Pay Range: $19.00 - $23.00/Hour
