At Arkel, we are looking for a self-motivated, ‘doer’ to fill the role of Human Resources Manager. An HR Manager for Arkel handles a broad range of duties and is a versatile resource for employees and managers. They are involved in everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and compliance with employment laws, ensuring smooth HR operations and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities are to Include the creation, refinement, and execution of:
Compliance: Staying updated on employment laws and regulations and ensuring the company's compliance with all employment law, insuring I9 compliance, and E-Verify all employees, and continually improving best practices and process efficiencies.
Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding: Drafting job descriptions, managing the hiring process, conducting initial interviews, coordinating follow up interviews and new employee onboarding.
Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns, mediating disputes, and ensuring a positive work environment. Support performance management processes, including employee evaluations and feedback mechanisms. Track turnover rates.
Performance Management: Supporting managers with performance reviews, development plans, and employee recognition. As well as managing separations, transfers, and ensuring proper assignments. Assist in competitive pay evaluations and build salary structures.
Training and Development: Coordinating employee training programs and ensuring they are aligned with the company's goals.
Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and communication.
HR Systems: Maintaining and utilizing HR software and systems to track employee data and manage HR processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing HR data to identify trends, make recommendations, and track the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Payroll Processing: Performing the payroll processing, including calculations, adjustments, and reconciliation and uploads to both ERP and Payroll distribution software. Work with Labor Brokers and Union leads to process certified payroll, and audit 3rd party labor information.
Policy Development and Communication: Creating and communicating HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are consistently applied.
Occupational Safety and Health: Coordinate with Corporate Safety ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, including developing and implementing safety policies, and working to insure proper handling of any occupational issues.
Employee Records Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records is a crucial administrative task.
Employee Visa and Travel Care: Assist with Visa requirement for foreign travel, and coordinating visa applications, and approvals. Identifying requirements during the research phase of a business effort.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in human resources or related fields with a focus on workforce management and talent management
- Willingness to do the work, not delegate and manage others.
- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess candidate fit for various roles.
- Knowledge of training development methodologies and succession planning processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with Viewpoint and ADP are a plus
- Willingness to help across departments with other roles if/when needed.
