Technical Sales Representative
This is a Base Salary earned Commissions Bonus Sales role, earning commissions on both existing client sales as well as new client orders.

A technical sales representative works to build new and reinforce existing client relationships with a focus on increasing company revenue and exploring new services and opportunities. The technical sales representative works in the business development department to sell ARL’s services and helps the marketing department to generate market development plans. These tasks require the representative to be familiar with the services ARL offers and how this intersects with the needs of current and potential clients. In assisting clients, the technical sales representative listens to needs, recommends services, and composes quotes to perform the appropriate work. Up-to-date knowledge of competitor’s offerings should be a focus to provide ARL’s clients with the best possible service. They work with the Director of Business development and other in-house groups to develop new services, decide how ARL’s capabilities should be offered, and how to sell and market those services in a competitive marketplace.
This is a safety sensitive position as defined by state and federal laws that will require working with hazardous materials and/or handling medicine. As a "safety sensitive" classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m.
Essential Functions...
- Follow up on and develop sales both by phone, email, and face to face meetings
- Communicate effectively with clients and their decision makers
- Write quotes for existing clients studies and potential clients
- Assist Client Services with customer phone calls
- Interact with all members of the company, at all levels, to accomplish goals
- Assess market trends and regulations
- Analyze and pursue potential new markets for ARL
- Represent ARL at industry technical meetings, trade shows, and at client facilities
- Research accounts and generate or follow through on sales leads
- Maintain and expand sales within your assigned territory
- Design studies based on client requirements and lead clients to execute quotes
- Provide clients with routine guidance on regulatory questions and testing services
- Align ARL’s capabilities with client expectations and ensure client satisfaction
- Review and assist in changes and updates to marketing strategy
- Assist in client invoicing and receiving to ensure the appropriate charges are applied
Position Requirements...
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in science or business is required.
- 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting and 2 years of sales experience are preferred.
- Oral and written Communication Proficiency in English is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite is required
- Strong Teamwork preferred
Work Environment...
This job operates in a professional office environment. Attendance at the office is required.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands...
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some carrying and setting up of exhibit displays is required. Standing while at exhibit booth for extending periods of time may also be required.
Travel...
Some overnight and local day travel may be necessary (~10-20%) and may include weekends.
