Job Summary
The Academic Mentor for Student Success will play a vital role in supporting the educational growth and development of students. This position requires a dedicated and organized individual who can provide guidance, supervision, and encouragement to students.
About the Role
- This is a 10-month non-exempt position.
- The successful candidate will maintain a forty-hour (40) workweek and be evaluated based on the guidelines set by Human Resources.
- The Study Hall Monitor collaborates with the school principal and administrative team on supervisory expectations of students on the study hall roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify Concerns and Seek Assistance
The Academic Mentor for Student Success identifies concerns and seeks assistance from higher-level personnel or management to ensure the study hall room is an efficient and effective assignment for students.
- Coordinate Instructional and Behavioral Activities
The Academic Mentor coordinates, provides, and supervises instructional and behavioral activities for students assigned to study hall.
- Assist Students with Assignments and Classwork
The Academic Mentor assists students in assessing instructional assignments and developing strategies to manage time to complete assignments.
- Communicate with Teachers and Administrators
The Academic Mentor communicates with teachers and administrators regarding students' assignments and seeks appropriate instructional plans while supervising students.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one year of successful clerical experience.
- Proficient use of computers, including spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively by oral and written means.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships.

$18.91 - $20.88 per hour (non-degree) or $23.76 - $26.23 per hour (degree), depending on previous experience in similar positions.
