The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a collaborative and dynamic Project PEACE Program Coordinator to lead a County-wide intimate partner and sexual violence recovery-oriented, trauma-informed human services program. This position will provide leadership and oversight to the Project PEACE (Partnering to End Abuse in the Community for Everyone), Coordinated Community Response and Partner, and SHIFT Arlington County’s Certified Domestic Violence Intervention Programs. The Project PEACE Program Coordinator is part of the Economic Independence Division (EID) of the Department of Human Services and reports to the Assistant Division Director.
DHS has re-written its Vision, Mission, and Values to ensure that all its programs, practices and policies reflect equitable resource allocation, access and improved outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in Arlington. The Project PEACE Coordinator must be committed to carry out and support the Department to achieve its new Vision, Mission, and Values.

Responsibilities
As Project PEACE Coordinator, the employee is responsible for:
- Planning and coordinating Arlington’s Coordinated Community Response (CCR) to address interpersonal violence through community-wide activities and initiatives to fulfill the mission to end intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assaults (SA) in Arlington County; including supervising staff to implement County-wide prevention initiatives;
- Overseeing and implementing the Project PEACE Blueprint and Annual Reports, including facilitating two major task force meetings and providing oversight for several smaller work groups;
- Overseeing Partner/SHIFT, a behavior modification program designed to meet the needs of those causing harm to their intimate partners, including supervising a program coordinator;
- Participating and providing technical assistance support to the County’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Lethally Assessment Protocols (LAP) team, and other IP/SV multi-disciplinary teams (local and regional);
- Supporting and leading the development and implementation of protocols and trainings to strengthen and enhance the coordinated community response to intimate partner and/or sexual violence;
- Collaborating with public and private partners in Arlington to prevent and address the issues and concerns around IPV and SA for adults and youth; including interacting routinely with community partners and other government officials;
- Leading efforts to implement process improvements across the County related to IPV and SA, including seeking alternative funding sources;
- Providing subject matter expertise on IPV/SV, intervention services and system coordination to DHS staff, project partners and the general community;
- Planning, coordinating and facilitating meetings between citizens, community partners, professionals, and County-wide staff regarding IPV and/or SA; and
- Providing contract administration for County funds directed to support victim services for those impacted by IPV/SA.
Qualifications
Selection Criteria
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, a Human Services discipline such as Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Nursing, or a related field;
- Considerable experience providing advocacy, clinical, and/or administrative services to domestic violence and sexual assault victim agencies; and
- Experience identifying grants and grant writing related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
Desirables: Preference may be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in related field and/or experience in one or more of the following:
- Program management providing services to victims of domestic/intimate partner violence and sexual assault and/or other clinical services;
- Grant writing or contract management;
- Working with criminal justice partners, Victim Witness agencies, non-profit partners; educators, and other government officials;
- Leading and developing collaborative projects; and/or
- Supervising staff.
