Arlington County’s Central Library is seeking a Senior Librarian with a passion for innovation and exemplary customer service to help shape the future of the Library's maker programs and services. This position will supervise staff in The Shop, which is the library’s makerspace.

Specific duties include:
- Working with a system-wide team to plan and deliver maker programming;
- Overseeing the daily operations of the Central Library makerspace, including the hiring, scheduling and training of volunteers and staff;
- Designing and implementing new and innovative public technology and maker services in collaboration with library leadership, the system Programming Manager and other staff;
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of other computer and technology programs, classes and services;
- Providing information and assisting customers in the use of Library resources; and
- Being a team member of the Programs, Outreach & Partnership team.

Minimum:
- Master's of Library Science or Information Science degree from an ALA accredited college or university; plus
- Significant experience providing library services including at least one year in technology-based services or directly related specialty area.
Desirables: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Managing and implementing technology and maker services in a library setting;
- Coordinating the work of volunteers and other staff;
- Delivering training and/or teaching groups or individuals in a public service setting, especially in the area of technology;
- Providing customer service to a diverse population, especially in the area of technology; and/or
- Developing and implementing library programs and services.
