What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Dietary Chef position at Arlington Health and Rehabilitation?

Here at Arlington Health and Rehabilitation we are looking for a Part-time Dietary Cook (11am-7 pm) 4 days a week to add to our culinary team. Which includes Saturday & Sunday coverage, We would prefer someone with experience in a long-term care/healthcare setting but we are happy to work with the right person! We do a one month schedule with at least on weekend off a month
Arlington Health and Rehabilitation is a private family owned Skilled Nursing Facility in Arlington, WA. We have an excellent dedicated staff with a long history of employment. If your passion is food and nutrition and providing a great dining experience for our residents.
A Dietary Cook applicant must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, read and write English, and have excellent customer service skills. We offer very competitive pay that can be discussed at the time of an interview.
As a Cook, you’ll be working in a team environment with new challenges every day. Unlike other cooking positions in hospitality (restaurants, hotels, resorts), in this role you’ll have the opportunity to build life-long relationships serving our residents the nutritious meals that keep them thriving every day.
- 1 years’ experience in nutrition, food preparation, safe food handling
- Experience working in institutional cooking including mechanical, pureed, finger food and renal diets
- Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time
- Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner
- Quick learner who is able to master working with various types of equipment
What you can expect to do as a Cook for Arlington Health and Rehabilitation :
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, including properly distributing and storing away food
- Ensure all special dietary needs are met
- Work in a team environment where communication is key
- Make a significant contribution to the quality of life our residents by maintaining the highest possible quality and consistency
- Demonstrate organizational skills around time management
** Qualified Dietary Cook candidates will possess the following skills:
Have a passion to work with the elderly

Clear and concise communication
Ability to work independently or as a team player
Ability to multi-task
Great attendance
1 year experience preferred
