What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Services & Makerspace Advisor position at Arlington Heights Memorial Library?

Our digital services team has an opportunity for a tech-savvy and customer-focused individual. Requires extensive interaction in assisting the public with technology available at the library, including our digital media lab, and the Makerplace.
Requirements & Skills
- A positive and friendly customer service attitude
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to excel in Our Culture.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current and popular technologies such as Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, MS Office and digital media tools.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma required. 2-3 years college coursework preferred. 2-3 years customer services experience.
Hours and Scheduling
Part-time, approximately 5 hours per week. Daytime, evening and especially weekend shifts. This substitute position includes a fixed shift of every 4th weekend.
Flexibility in scheduling is required as this position provides service coverage for staff who are on vacation, ill, and other scheduling gaps. Occasional opportunity to pick up additional hours when the department needs shift coverage.
Ability to provide own transportation between main library and makerspace branch.
Salary & Benefits
$19.50 to $24.00/hour, depending on qualifications.
