Come join the Arlington Heights Park District and be part of the team that makes our golf courses outstanding. We are actively recruiting individuals who can perform a variety of daily, cyclical and routine golf course maintenance functions and like to work outdoors.
Typical shifts begin at 5am, however some late morning and afternoon shifts may be available. This position also offers flexible days as it is a 7-day a week operation.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $16-$19/Hr. DOQ
Part-Time Wages
JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION
- Mows, aerates, grades, seeds, sods, waters, rakes and polices tees, greens and fairways
- Diagnoses and controls weeds, diseases and insects
- Applies fertilizer and fungicide, as needed
- Operates trucks, mowers, sod cutters, chain saws, hand and power tools and all other maintenance and mechanical equipment
- Prepares and cleans beds, plants, trims, prunes, mulches, waters, weeds, stakes, fertilizes, rakes, shovels, digs, spreads wood chips, back fills and levels soil to complete and maintain grounds and horticultural projects
- Operates tractors, mowing
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Minimum of one to two years’ experience in golf course or grounds maintenance
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Valid Illinois Class “D” Driver’s License
- Valid Illinois Pesticide Public Operators License and/or valid Illinois Applicator License in turf, ornamentals or right of way preferred
- CPR and AED Certification preferred
