Overview
The dining services manager is a working manager position responsible for ensuring a quality and memorable dining experience by being present, thoroughly training staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and leading by example.
Duties
- Maintain a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude at all times.
- Proficient in and /or the ability to learn the managerial functions and train staff in dining POS system.
- Manage reservations and plans dining room setup.
- Serve as liaison between dining room and kitchen.
- Ensure the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining room.
- Maintain inventory of all dining room and room service and complete monthly, quarterly inventory in a timely and accurate manner.
- Produce daily revenue reports
- Ensure room service orders are delivered promptly, politely, accurately, and all trays are recovered and returned in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate the skill set needed to plan and execute large volume specialty buffets.
- Receive and resolve guest concerns quickly, quietly, and respectfully.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Train, schedule, evaluate, and encourage employees.
- Ensure the correct appearance, cleanliness, and complete uniform of all dining staff.
- Have knowledge of all hotel facilities, services, and hours of operation.
- Have knowledge of entertainment and special events scheduled in the hotel.
- Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Adhere to hotel's dress code policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years of experience in food & beverage with a minimum of one year in management required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to be professional and always focus on guest expectations and needs.
- Ability to solve problems and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers and build a positive team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and kneeling.
