Summary/Objective:
Perform duties to set up and operate equipment in the converting department in accordance with customer specifications, product specifications, and shop orders. Oversee converting operation on their respective shift.
Roles Responsibilities:
- Assign personnel to execute tasks to meet the daily productivity requirements.
- Ensure operators are running productively.
- Report equipment, safety, personnel, and IT problems to the appropriate department.
- Complete a daily lead report.
- Perform rework and pull material to meet demand.
- Correct transactions in SAP.
General Compounding Back up Lead Functions:
- Train new operators in the converting and packing process.
- Convert work-in-progress rolls into finished good rolls per the process order and quality and process specifications.
- Validate cleanliness and effectiveness of converting blades and machine prior to running material.
- Inspect material for defects. If defective material is found, identify the appropriate rework requirement, or scrap the defective material.
- Perform accurate issues, receipt, and scrap transactions; preserve batch traceability.
- Package the rolls with the appropriate packaging material.
- Label all rolls with the correct core and box label.
- Maintain a clean working environment, 5S.

Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years in the Manufacturing industry.
- Minimum one (1) years of lead experience. Preferred but not required.
- Effective communication skills, in the English language (listening, verbal, written, inter-personal).
- Positive attitude, organized, and exhibiting great time management and customer service skills.
- Ability, willingness, and availability to work any day and shift, per business needs.
Pay Transparency
The current pay rate for this position is between $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job-related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience. If hired, employment will be at will.
