Summary/Objective: 

Oversee daily warehouse operations. Ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and shipment of goods, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Leads a team of warehouse personnel, optimizes processes, and contributes to the overall success of our supply chain. Partners with Human Resources in hiring, performance management, termination and other significant management activities.

Main Position Responsibilities (plus other duties, as assigned):

Supervise Warehouse Operations 

• Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Ensure accurate inventory management and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor and optimize workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
• Implement, improve and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Team Leadership and Management 

• Hire, train, and direct the work of warehouse staff.
• Schedule and assign work to warehouse personnel ensuring sufficient coverage to support outbound sales and inbound receipts. 
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Resolve employee conflicts and address performance issues.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that focuses on continuous improvement.
• Manages and drives warehouse KPIs and Targets to improve.

Inventory Management 

• Conduct regular inventory checks and audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems.
• Monitor stock levels and anticipate inventory needs.

Shipping and Receiving 

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of shipping and receiving documents.
• Liaise with carriers and freight forwarders.
• Manage loading and unloading operations.
• Effectively communicate any misses for outbound and inbound shipments.

Safety and Compliance 

• Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct safety training and ensure compliance.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.

Process Improvement 

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. 
• Analyze warehouse performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimize operations.
• Generate reports on warehouse productivity, and efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of recent experience in warehouse operations, with 3 years in a supervisory role, successfully performing similar tasks.
• Proven experience in inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)/SAP.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
• Experience with forklift operation and certification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office ® suite.
• Competent to advanced communication skills in the English language (listening, verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal).
• Flexibility regarding work schedule, to appropriately support business needs.

Additional (optional) Education, Background and Experience:

• Formal education beyond high school diploma or equivalent.
• Logistics or related field formal training.
• Relevant certifications.
