Position Description :
The Academic Tutor will specialize in delivering instructions for chemistry, math, to students at the high school level. Tutors work directly with students in their homes and on occasion in public locations such as libraries or coffee shops, tailoring sessions to individual needs. Candidates with experience in special education are a plus. Tri-Ed offers flexible scheduling, so tutors choose their own hours and work weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct 1-1.5 hour weekly tutoring sessions with students
Assist students in understanding challenging concepts and improving academic performance
Collaborate with families to determine schedules and ensure student progress
Ability to tutor subjects such as high school math, physics, and chemistry
Minimum Experience Level :
Experience tutoring or teaching for at least 1 year
Experience working with teenage students
Required Skills / Certifications
Able to commit to tutoring until the end of the year (around mid-June 2025)
Strong ability to simplify difficult concepts for students
Must have reliable transportation (cant be only Metro)
Desired Qualifications
Enthusiasm and commitment to student success
Able to commit to 4-8 hours of tutoring per week
Education
Bachelors degree (required)
